Program Coordinator – Child Care Center

King’s Daughters Child Care Center is seeking a Program Coordinator to help oversee classroom operations, staffing coverage, program implementation, and quality standards across classrooms.
Our mission is to promote the social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development of children through educational experiences in a safe and nurturing environment.
This is a hands-on, collaborative role that works closely with the Center Director and supports staff coaching, scheduling, classroom quality, and day-to-day center operations.
Hours & Work Schedule
Hours of operation for this role are typically 8:00am–5:00pm, Monday through Friday.
Minimum Qualifications:
- At least 21 years ol
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education REQUIRED
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in a child care center
- CDA or ACDS credentials/program (preferred/required per center preference)
- Ability to maintain required certifications (e.g., CPR/First Aid, food handlers, etc.)
Responsibilities Include:
- Create weekly staffing schedules to ensure all classroom ratios are met.
- Supervise, monitor, and adjust program implementation as needed.
- Mentor and onboard new staff, and support staff professional development plans.
- Maintain classroom environments and programming in compliance with childcare licensing requirements and NAEYC guidelines.
- Coordinate program planning and implementation for each classroom (e.g., ITERS/ECERS and Birth to Three frameworks).
- Ensure classrooms remain clean, safe, and organized, with materials properly stored when not in use.
- Monitor and address health and safety issues regularly.
- Oversee classroom staff to ensure policies/procedures are followed consistently.
- Partner with the Center Director to address performance concerns and resolve classroom or staffing issues.
- Maintain strong communication with staff, parents, and leadership.
- Allocate staffing resources to meet regulatory requirements and program needs.
- Serve as person-in-charge overseeing center operations when the Center Director is absent.
- Help ensure building/grounds are maintained in a safe, clean, and attractive condition.
- Support cost-effective use of resources consistent with the agency budget.
- Represent the agency through community and inter-organizational initiatives, as needed.
- Perform other operational management duties as assigned by the Center Director or Executive Director.
